New Jersey’s Zero-emission Incentive Program (NJ ZIP) launched on April 6, 2021. There is not a deadline for applying; the portal will remain open until all the $15 M in voucher funds are reserved, on a first come, first served basis, with $5 M set aside for small businesses. If additional funds become available, the program may reopen or remain open.
For-profit businesses, institutions (e.g., non-profits, schools, municipalities), or vendors can apply for a voucher to cover a portion of the cost of new, zero-emission, medium- and heavy-duty vehicles (MHDVs). The vouchers range in value from $25,000 for Class 2b vehicles to $100,000 for Class 6 vehicles, such as large pickup trucks, step-in vans, buses, box trucks, etc. Following an eligibility review, vouchers will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
